FROM THE PRINCIPAL

At the end of each year, we have a number of teaching and non-teaching staff who move on to different roles or positions throughout the system.  I would like to thank and acknowledge the following staff for their contribution to the education of students at Wellard Primary School over recent years.

I would sincerely like to thank each of those staff members for their contribution to our school. They have displayed high levels of professionalism and dedication to improving the educational outcomes of all students. On behalf of the school community, I would like to wish them all the best for the future.

MCWHIRTER PROMENADE KISS & DRIVE

Please note that we will not be supervising this Kiss & Drive of a morning. We have been out there for many weeks now and it is not that busy of a morning. Students who use the Kiss and Drive should be able to exit the car and walk along the footpath to enter the school. Parents who are concerned their child is not capable of using the Kiss and Drive have the option of parking and walking their children in or use the Kiss and Drive. The Kiss and Drive is also available on Jaspar Bend.

PLAYGROUND SHADE SAILS

Installation of the playground shade sails is partially completed.  We are waiting for confirmation of when the final installation will be completed.

BOOKLISTS 2024

Booklists for 2024 were distributed earlier this term. Please note that all orders need to be registered online. Please see the information sent home for more details about the ordering process. Booklists can also be found on our website and on Connect. Contact the office if you have any queries.

CLASS AWARD ASSEMBLY & YEAR 6 GRADUATION

A reminder that our Class Award Assemblies will be conducted on Tuesday 12^th December commencing at 8.50am. The PP – Yr 2 assembly will commence at 8.50am whilst the Yr 3 – 6 assembly commences at 9.50am. We have created 2 separate award ceremonies as it is not possible to fit all of our students in the Assembly Area at the same time. Our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony will occur at 8.50am on Wednesday 13^th December in the Assembly Area followed by a formal dinner in the evening.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING (OPEN MEETING)

Our next School Board Meeting will be conducted on Thursday 30^th November commencing at 1.15pm in the Admin Office Room.  This meeting can be attended by any members of the school Community. Please contact the office if you intend attending so we can accommodate you.

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS

Payment of Voluntary Contributions is now due. Funds raised through these contributions are used to purchase resources etc. to complement the educational programs we run throughout the school. Thank you to those families who have already paid their contributions. As a school we are always conscious of the costs we seek from parents in relation to educational activities.

Kindergarten – Year 6 - $60 per child per year.

 

Our preferred way of payment is by using our Qkr App, please see attached PDF for details.

IF YOU ARE LEAVING

We are currently planning for 2024 and would like for parents to contact us if they are leaving. This is also the case if you are going on holidays and not returning for the first day of the school year. This can be done by contacting the front office.

CLASS PARTIES

We have decided to conduct our end of year class parties on different days so that we can better manage such events in the context of a large school. PP – Year 2 will conduct their parties on Tuesday 12^th December whilst Year 3 – 5 classes will conduct their parties on Wednesday 13^th December. Parents are asked to provide healthy food options where possible.

ASSEMBLY

The last assembly for the year will be conducted by Ms Hodges Year 5 class this Friday 1^st December commencing at 8.50am in the Assembly Area.

STUDENT REPORTS

Student reports will be available on Connect on Monday 11^th December (Pre-primary to Yr 6). This year, all students will receive a printed copy of their report to take home to share with parents.  I want students to value their report and have the opportunity to discuss their report with their parents. This is not always possible when it is sent home via Connect. Parents are most welcome to organise a teacher interview in the last week of term.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Parents are reminded that students finish the school year on Thursday 14^th December.

CLASS STRUCTURES 2024

The school is still working on class structures for next year due to the ongoing number of enrolments we are receiving. Class lists will be placed on the office windows as of Monday 29^th January. Please note the office does not open for the school year until Wednesday 24^th January.
