Enrolment

Thank you for your interest in applying to enrol your child at Wellard Primary School, a Western Australian Public Independent school. Wellard Primary is a local intake school.  An eligible child whose place of residence is within the intake area is guaranteed enrolment in the compulsory years of primary schooling (Pre-primary to Year 6).

Follow these easy steps to enrol your children:

Step 1
Contact your local public school for an application for enrolment form. The school can help you with your application.

Step 2
Submit your application for enrolment at your local school as soon as possible along with copies of:

  • your children’s birth certificates (telephone the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages on 1300 305 021 if you do not have one)
  • your children’s immunisation records (telephone the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 if you need details)
  • proof of your current address (eg recent accounts for electricity, water and telephone, bank details)
  • copies of Family Court orders for confirmation of proof of name or custody arrangements.
  • Students born overseas should also present a passport, visa and citizenship documentation.

Please note, All official records must be in the child’s legal name. The use of a preferred name may be possible for informal communications.

You will need to re-enrol your children if they change schools.

It is highly recommended not to purchase items such as uniforms until you receive confirmation of enrolment.

Unsuccessful applications
If your children are unsuccessful in gaining places in a school outside your local-intake area you may need to reconsider enrolling them at your local school, where they are guaranteed a place.

Kindergarden 2020

A year of part-time Kindergarten is available at Wellard PS.  Applications for Kindergarten in 2020 are now open for children born between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016. (four years old by 30 June 2020).  While it is not compulsory, almost all parents enrol their children so they get the best start to learning at school. Visit your local school and apply to enrol as soon as possible.

The school will notify you of the results of your application as soon as possible. The information you have provided will be used by the school once eligibility is confirmed.

It is highly recommended not to purchase items such as uniforms until you receive confirmation of enrolment.

The Department’s Enrolment Policy can be found at http://www.det.wa.edu.au/policies.

Please note, when applying for Kindergarten, in most cases your child will be offered a place at your local public school. However, if the number of Kindergarten applications exceeds the number of places available, you may be referred to a nearby Kindergarten which has places available. Every effort is made to accommodate your child in a school as close as possible to your home.
